Ex- Acting President of NUPENG, late Comrade James Bandele Ladega was finally laid to rest today, (Friday, January 31, 2020) at his private residence in Ijanikin after a service at the Church of Transfiguration of the Anglican Communion.
Pa Ladega’s demise painfully depleted the number of veterans in the Union and he would be greatly missed within the circle of elders in the Union.
In attendance at the funeral ceremony were members of his immediate and extended family, especially his wife, Mrs Risikatu Ladega, his children and grandchildren respectively.
National President of NUPENG, Comrade Williams Akporeha was among sympathizers who came to offer their last respect in honour of the elder statesman. Others were General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Olawale Afolabi, Deputy Presidents of the Union, Comrade Solomon Kilanko, Comrade Harry Bassey, and Vice President of NUPENG (Lagos Zone) Comrade Rotimi Benjamin.
Also present were National Treasurer of NUPENG, Comrade Alex Agwanwor, Deputy General Secretaries in charge of Operations, Admin and Account/Finance, Comrade Onohwohwo Otite, Comrade Chris Akpede, Comrade Anthony Chuckwu, PAGS Research and Public Affairs, Comrade Adamson Momoh, Comrade Alabala Lawrence (POS Edu./Training) and Chairman Lagos Zone, Comrade Tayo Aboyeji.
Veterans who were physically present for the funeral ceremony included Comrade Brisibe B. Awe, Comrade S.A Dada, Comrade Bernard Ugbi and Comrade Eseonu.
