NUPENG, PEDAN TO TACKLE CHALLENGES TOGETHERPROSPER AKRAI
The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (PEDAN) have both agreed to work together and collaborate to face the challenges facing their members in the downstream sector of the economy.
This accord was issued during the visit of the leadership of the Interim Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (PEDAN) to NUPENG Secretariat in Lagos.
The leader of the PEDAN team, Hamlet Emman solicited for NUPENG assistance in dealing with some of its challenges which included pleading with the International Oil Companies to look into their rebate which is presently very low.
In his response, the President of NUPENG, Comrade (Prince) Williams Akporeha was happy that PEDAN has woken up from its deep slumber and promised to support them.
He told them that our members, the Petroleum Station Workers (PSW) will soon be demanding for wage review due to the enactment of the new minimum wage.
Comrade Akporeha added that they must embrace workers right to unionisation at their various filling stations and however reiterated NUPENG’s support and assistance to PEDAN when needed and necessary.
