Key stakeholders in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector convened in Abuja today for a high-level regulatory engagement and courtesy visit hosted by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The meeting, chaired by NMDPRA Authority Chief Executive, Mr. Rabiu Abdullahi Umar, and his management team, brought together industry leaders committed to building a more resilient and efficient petroleum supply and distribution chain.

Leading the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) delegation was the National Executive President, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti. Also present were the National Executive President of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Alhaji Lawal Yusuf Othman and his team.

Discussions centered on actionable strategies to:
· Eliminate logistical bottlenecks hindering seamless product distribution
· Enhance operational efficiency through technology adoption
· Strengthen energy security as a driver of national productivity.

NUPENG Delegation:
The union’s representation included Deputy President Comrade Akin Oladejo, Acting General Secretary Comrade Otite Onohwohwo, National Security Coordinator/PTD Lagos Zonal Council Chairman Comrade Alhaji Gbolahan Saheed Adigun, PTD National Chairman Comrade Mathias O. Ote, Comrade Joseph Akinlaja, former General Secretary of NUPENG/stakeholder, Comrade Musliu Adeniyi, Secretary PTD Warri Zone, and Comrade Suleiman M. Pema AGS (Research & Public Affairs) NUPENG.
All parties pledged renewed collaboration and synergy toward seamless product distribution nationwide, with commitments to schedule follow-up meetings and technical workshops to ensure sustained progress.
