Dear Comrades,

On behalf of the leadership of our Union, we write to profoundly commend you all for your unalloyed and unwavering compliance with the directive issued on June 1^st, 2024, to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike in compliance with the directive of the Joint Labour Center.

Meanwhile, consequent upon the decision reached at the Joint National Executive Council meeting of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union held on 4^th June, 2024,  that the nationwide strike should be suspended for One (1) Week to allow further negotiations on the issues at stake based on the intervention of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, you are hereby formally notified that the action has been suspended with immediate effect.

To the effect of this decision, we write to direct all our members and Branches in all Oil and Gas installations, operations and services including distribution and marketing of Petroleum products, to comply with this joint decision of the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress to suspend the nationwide strike with immediate effect.

We urge the Federal Government to utilize this grace period of one week to do all the needful for meaningful engagement and address the concerns of Nigerian workers to avoid further escalation of the crisis.

All leaders of our great Union at all levels, from the Units, Zones and Branches, should immediately ensure total compliance with this directive.
