LAGOS, NIGERIA – JUNE 30, 2026

The new leadership of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), alongside key stakeholders in the downstream petroleum sector, on Tuesday 30th June 2026 paid a landmark courtesy visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, Alhaji Sayyu Dantata.

The meeting, which took place at the MRS Oil corporate headquarters in Tin Can Island, Lagos, marked a new dawn in labour-industry relations, signaling a collective commitment to stability, growth, and mutual respect across the nation’s petroleum value chain.

Welcoming the distinguished delegation, Alhaji Sayyu Dantata extended heartfelt congratulations to Comrade Otunba Salimon Akanni Oladiti on his emergence as the Executive President of NUPENG. In a moment of profound statesmanship, the MRS Oil helmsman declared that all past misunderstandings with the Union had been laid to rest.

“For a vehicle to move forward, all four tyres must be properly balanced,” Dantata analogized. “Similarly, every stakeholder in this industry must work together harmoniously. We must prioritize character, integrity, and quality leadership as we navigate the road ahead.”

Responding on behalf of the Union, Comrade Otunba Salimon Akanni Oladiti expressed profound gratitude to the MRS Oil Chairman for accommodating the delegation at short notice—a gesture he described as a testament to Dantata’s visionary leadership.

“We are here to build bridges, not walls,” Oladiti stated. “Our union is committed to a renewed relationship founded on dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation. We choose to look forward, not backward, and we are eager to work hand-in-hand with MRS Oil to drive progress in this critical sector.”
