The NNPCL GCEO and his management team received the NUPENG leadership in an atmosphere of warmth, cordiality, and mutual respect.

Speaking during the visit, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti expressed deep appreciation to Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari and his team for the support rendered to the Union during its 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference held in April 2026. He also commended the NNPCL management for facilitating international training opportunities for union leaders and for the fair and balanced manner in which it has addressed matters concerning NUPENG members.

The NUPENG President further advocated for the revitalisation of the nation’s refineries, depots, and pipelines, called for job opportunities for junior career staff, and emphasised the need for decent work conditions from NNPCL contractors.

He noted that the NNPC was saved by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and reaffirmed that their doors remain wide open through direct channels of communication, as they operate an open-door policy where every member of his management team is accessible.

He further stated that the new NNPCL will continue to expand engagements and open dialogue around the future to ensure collective readiness for the realities of the changing world of work. He assured that all concerns raised by the NUPENG leadership would be addressed in a sustainable and holistic manner.

He concluded by affirming that the NNPCL values its partnership with NUPENG and looks forward to consolidating it further, expressing confidence that the relationship under Comrade Oladiti will grow even stronger.
