NUPENG HOLDS NEC MEETING IN WARRI, DELTA STATE

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) successfully held its first National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for 2025 on Saturday, 12th April, at Bon Hotel, Hyatti, Warri.

The meeting set key agendas for the union’s future, including preparations for upcoming Zonal Elections, the Special Delegates Conference, and the 2026 National Delegates Conference.

In his opening remarks, NUPENG National President, Comrade (Prince) Williams Akporeha, thanked NEC members for their support over his seven-year leadership, crediting the union’s achievements to collective efforts. Comrade Afolabi Olawale, General Secretary, also acknowledged the council’s role in advancing NUPENG’s goals.

THANKSGIVING SERVICE

The following day, Sunday, April 13th, Comrade and Mrs. Williams Akporeha hosted a thanksgiving service at Assumption Catholic Church, Idama-Warri, attended by NUPENG NEC members, family, and friends.

The service, coinciding with Palm Sunday, was officiated by Very Rev. Fr. Barnabas Esigine, who urged attendees to embrace gratitude and Christ-like goodness. He offered prayers for Akporeha’s family and NUPENG’s continued success. 

The NEC meeting and thanksgiving service reinforced NUPENG’s commitment to unity and progress, with members resolving to strengthen the union’s future.
