The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), led by Comrade (Prince) Williams Akporeha, President; Comrade Afolabi Olawale, General Secretary; and Comrade Vincent Ukhuakhua, SAGS (Finance and Accounts), hosted the management team of Leadway Health Insurance at the NUPENG National Secretariat in Lagos. The occasion marked the official renewal ceremony of the health insurance scheme for Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) on the wheel.

The Leadway Health Insurance delegation, led by Dr. Olatokunbo Alli, Chief Executive Officer, included Dr. Gideon Anumba, Head of Operations, and Mr. Nathan Peregrine Akatakpo, Sales Executive. The ceremony celebrated the continued partnership between NUPENG and Leadway Health Insurance, aimed at providing quality healthcare coverage for petroleum tanker drivers on the wheel across Nigeria.

During the meeting, leaders from both organizations reviewed the progress of the scheme and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the partnership. The initiative, which has been widely commended, ensures that drivers have access to essential healthcare services, regardless of their location in the country.

Comrade Williams Akporeha, on behalf of NUPENG, urged all petroleum tanker drivers on the wheel to fully utilize this invaluable opportunity, emphasizing that “health is wealth.” He reiterated the union’s dedication to the welfare of its members and praised Leadway Health Insurance for its unwavering support in delivering quality healthcare solutions.
