The newly appointed General Secretary of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Comrade Olawale Afolabi and other appointed Deputy General Secretaries, Comrades Christopher Akpede, Anthony Chukwu and Otite Onohwohwo on Tuesday April 9, 2019 hosted National Secretariat staff at Jibowu office of the Union to a lunch.

The merry making gathering which commemorated the new leadership structure within Union had in attendance the National President of NUPENG, Comrade Williams Eniredonana Akporeha, National Treasurer, Comrade Alex Agwanwor,  Comrade Adamson Momoh (PAGS Research/Public Affairs), Comrade Alabala Lawrence (POS Training/Education), old staff, the newly confirmed staff and a few well wishers.

Comrade Akporeha in his remarks reaffirmed his thought that the new General Secretary and the Deputy General Secretaries with their robust antecedents for more than two decades will no doubt continue to add value to the growth of the Union.

He however encouraged the staff who were just confirmed to redouble their dedication, loyalty, and hardwork to help the Union succeed, and that they must be willing to grow and set aside their own priorities for the sake of the Union’s long-term advancement.

He further stressed that the trust and high optimism showcased by the new staff in the last one year towards meeting NUPENG goals should not be relaxed, rather they must insist to initiate actions that will make them become highly productive to accomplish tasks beyond their job description for the overall good of the Union, adding that there is reward for hardwork and compliance to the ethics and core values of the Union.
