NUPENG 2019 CHRISTMAS GREETINGS AND NEW YEAR MESSAGE

PRESS STATEMENT

The National leadership of Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) warmly felicitates with our teeming members, staff and other stakeholders in the Oil and Gas industry as well as Nigerians during this 2019 celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ irrespective of our faith.

For us as a Union, it is our firm belief that the greater internalization of the virtues of love for our fellowmen, tolerance, Godliness, honesty, fairness to others, selflessness, and peaceful co-existence with others, by all Nigerians including Oil and Gas workers, will definitely help dear nation to overcome most of its present challenges.

As a socially responsible and conscious organization we remain convinced that God Almighty is still with us as a nation even in the midst of our current challenges which we shall surely overcome with greater unity of purpose, dedication, commitment and perseverance.

It is our prayer that the celebration of the birth of Christ will rekindles, strengthens and reaffirms our faith in our national ability to overcome all challenges, with God on our side.

Meanwhile, we found it necessary for us as a critical stakeholder in the Oil and Gas industry to salute the courage of the Ministry of Labour and Employment through the Honorable Minister of State, Barrister Festus Keyamo (SAN) concerning the major reforms the Ministry will kick start in the early 2020 which is patriotically geared towards putting an end to various infractions in the industry and all forms of precarious work conditions and indecent employment in the interest of Nigerian workers. We pray God will grant the Ministry the enablement and will power to stem the tide bedeviling industrial peace and harmony in the industry.

In the same vein, we also offer our profound appreciation to the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari and his hard working team, Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu and his Delta state counterpart, His Excellency Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and other good spirited individuals who showed us strong affection, support and encouragement during the groundbreaking ceremony of our new Secretariat, christened, NUPENG TOWER, a multi-billion naira project. We sincerely thank them all for making our hopes and dreams head for a reality.

On this note, NUPENG wishes all our staff and members a very happy Christmas celebrations and as we transit into 2020 the National leadership of the Union further wishes you all beautiful moments, treasured memories, and all the happiness a heart can know throughout the new year and beyond.
