TRIBUTE TO LATE COMRADE JAMES BANDELE LADEGA

TRIBUTE TO LATE COMRADE JAMES BANDELE LADEGA

The entire rank and file members of our great Union (NUPENG) mourn the passing away to eternal glory of our father, Elder statesman, labour leader per excellence and former Acting President of NUPENG, Comrade James Bandele Ladega, who passed on to the bosom of the Almighty on December 8, 2019 in Ijanikin, Lagos State at the ripe age of Seventy Five (75) years.

Comrade Ladega was a frontline member of our great Union who passed through the mills to become the Acting President when the tenure of Late Comrade U.M Okoro was short-lived due to his promotion to PENGASSAN.

Comrade Ladega successfully completed the remaining period of the tenure of late U.M Okoro in flying colours and gloriously supervised the delegate’s conference that ushered in the “Lion of Amassoma”, Comrade Wariebi Agamene in 1992 as National President.

He was an active member of the NUPENG Elders Consultative Forum. A strong advisory Council that regularly meets to rub minds reminisces over the good old days of building the Union and offer suggestions on how to keep the positive brand on high pedestal.

Comrade Ladega was full of praise and commendation for the leadership of the Union under Comrade (Prince) Williams Akporeha for the introduction of a monthly allowance to former Presidents and General Secretaries of NUPENG, the first of its kind in the history of the Union.

Comrade James Bandele Ladega will be greatly missed as a former leader who held NUPENG dearly to his hearts.

He was a consummate family man of great virtue left behind a wife, two daughters and grandchildren.

The NUPENG leadership prays that God give the family and all of us the fortitude to bear the loss. Adieu Comrade Ladega!!!!

The wake-keep takes place on January 30, 2020 at his residence, 25, Oyabiyi Street, Aiyetoro Ijanikin at 4 p.m while the funeral service holds on January 31, 2020 at church of the Transfiguration, Ketu, Ijanikin, Bayuf Bus stop, Lagos by 10:00 a.m.

All our members are enjoined to be part of this celebration of great life.

Comrade Afolabi Olawale

General Secretary
